Sneaker Fun

Am I the only one who still refers to athletic shoes as "sneakers"?

The attendees at my February Card Club classes got to make this fun "sneaker" card, copying a card I saw on a demonstrator Facebook page:

Epic Celebrrations is a FREE Sale-a-Bration offering, and has such cute images--sneakers, headphones and an electric guitar, along with two perfect phrases.  This set is for the young, and the young-at-heart and we had a great time getting creative with our sneakers.

The card base is Thick Whisper White.  Then comes a layer of Whisper White, on which we stamped the dots and the sentiment (Bermuda Bay and Tuxedo Black inks) and wrapped a band of ribbon around the bottom.

The sneakers were stamped with Tuxedo Black ink, and then colored with Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends.  BUT...if someone wanted to make a more girlie card, I also had Calypso Coral Blends and a pink ribbon.

I knew one of those in attendance, an extremely creative and free-spirited young woman, would want to mix and match the colors, and I was right.  Her example became one for others to copy, as she created blue and pink camouflage sneakers!  So cute!

Out sneakers were punched with a circle punch, layered over a scalloped circle of Silver Glimmer paper and adhered with Dimensionals.

Simple and cute, and perfect for sending to an awesome friend!

Stampin' Blends, new alcohol markers from Stampin' Up! are available now:

A CASE for Sympathy

Unfortunately I recently needed a sympathy card.   I had seen this beautiful card in the Sale-a-Bration 2nd release brochure, and knew it would be perfect for what I needed.  Click on this link to see the catalog and the new FREE offerings.

I pretty much copied the card directly from the page.  The only difference is the flowers I chose to use from the designer series paper and the ribbon detail.

The Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series paper is gorgeous!  And it's FREE!  I suspect it will sell out quickly, so if you are interested, place your $50 order now and pick up this paper as your FREE Sale-a-Bration item.

When using Stampin' Blends to color these images, the foiled designs really pop!

I hand snipped the rose, the bud and the leaves, then colored them with the light and dark Pink Pirouette and Old Olive Blends.  So quick and easy.

The card base is Powder Pink with a layer of the rose-gold dotted Springtime Foils DSP.  I cut a label with the Lots of Labels dies and Whisper White cardstock, and popped it up on Dimensionals.  The sentiment is from Better Together, stamped in Soft Suede ink.

Such a lovely card; made even easier by copying the layout from the catalog!

Don't miss your chance to own this gorgeous paper!  SAB won't last forever, and this paper is only available while supplies last.

Cheers to Birthdays

It's my son's birthday (Happy birthday, Evan!) and since he's the kind of guy who likes to brew his own beer, I thought this would be a fitting card:

I love the Bubble Over stamp set, and had a great time combining this with the Wood Crate framelits dies.  Thought I'd send Evan a 6-pack!

The card base is Bermuda Bay, cut 5-12/" x 8-1/2'" and folded in half.  Then there is a layer of Early Espresso, followed by one more layer of Whisper White--this really makes the focal layer pop!

The Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper is a FREE Sale-a-Bration offering, and coordinates perfectly with the Bubble Over set.  The Bermuda Bay stripes sheet was my pick for a background for my 6-pack.

I stamped 6 bottles using Early Espresso ink, and cut them all out with the Bottles and Bubbles Framelits dies.  Then I lined up 5 of them and placed the wood crate over them (I only cut one piece of the Wood Crate, and trimmed it to make this "flat" crate).  The Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack makes wonderful wood crates!

The one lone bottle got a special label, using Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay ink, and check out that little bottle cap!  So cute when cut with the Copper Foil paper.

And do you see these little frosty drops?

These are the Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes.  They are perfect for adding a little accent to bottles, bubbles to mermaids (see this card) or dew on flowers.

Purchasing the Bubble Over Suite of stamps and coordinating framelits together saves you 10%--just add the Copper Foil an ink pad and some paper, and you'll qualify for the FREE Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper.  Then you can create your very own 6-packs!

Happy Birthday, Evan!
