Another Two-Way Card

Last week I shared this post, where I created two cards using the same layout.  Today I'll show you another one that I played with:

The one on the right was my first attempt.  I love Awesomely Artistic, and hadn't inked it up in awhile, so I got it out and started to play.

First up, stamping the flowers in Tuxedo Black ink:

I then colored them using Blender Pens and Watercolor Pencils or ink from the inkpads.  Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral were my chosen colors; I even stamped a few of the flowers, colored them and fussy-cut them, to give the card a little extra dimension.

Some "splats" were added using Sahara Sand ink, the sentiment stamped and then I ran my panel through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall embossing folder (LOVE!).

My dragonfly was colored Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie.  I really loved the look, and dragged some Wink of Stella over it for a subtle shimmer.

Round two - the blues.  Similar card, but using Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Blushing Bride for my color combo.  And I added some Linen Thread for the bow.

What do you think?  Have a preference?

It's Time for a Birthday!

Another birthday in the Ivler clan, today being the 10th birthday of my granddaughter, Vickie.  Here's her card:

Cool Treats is such a fun set, and with the matching Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper, this card came together in minutes.

I saw this layout on another blog, but for the life of me, cannot remember who's it was.  I made a quick sketch of their card, and forgot to mention where I found it...so if this is yours, thank you!

My base is Whisper White Thick cardstock, with a skinny layer of Early Espresso and then a full panel of one of the specialty papers in the Tasty Treats pack.  I love this paper--the clear, glossy coating on the page give a very rich feel to the card.  And the best part?  NO stamping on it!  Let the background paper do the work!

I stamped the cone on Crumb Cake cardstock, and then cut it out with the coordinating framelits.  The die has a texture that makes this look like a real ice cream cone!

The ice cream was stamped in Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder.  Watermelon Wonder is one of my favorite colors, and it will be retiring soon (get your fill now, before the retiring list is published; once the news gets out, this color will disappear quickly!).  Once stamped and cut with the framelit, I brushed some Wink of Stella over it--can you see the sparkle?

The sentiment is one long "strip"; I stamped it and cut it apart to make it fit on my card.

And of course a special card needs a special envelope:

I added some more of the Designer Series Paper to the flap--a preview of what's to come!

Happy Birthday, Vickie!

Tasty Trucks

This cute Sale-a-Bration offering is still available! Tasty Trucks is a set packed with stamps to celebrate just about any occasion. At this month's Card Club, Tani offered this card as her sample; I was able to make it a birthday card for my niece:

Lots of layers here!  The base is Basic Gray, with a layer of Bermuda Bay that was run through the Big Shot with the Festive Embossing Folder.  Smaller layers of Basic Gray with Whisper White and Daffodil Delight were added, and then we get to the main panel.

My truck was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink; we colored them with Watercolor Pencils and our choice of Blender Pens (my pick) or Aquapainters.  As I wanted a birthday card, I chose a little cupcake to add to my truck.  I also added the "happy birthday" from Teeny Tiny Wishes to the truck's side.

And see that ribbon?  That's another fabulous Sale-a-Bration offering--FREE with any $50 purchase.  This stuff is gorgeous!  Thick, soft, easy to work with, and makes a beautiful bow!  AND you get two rolls--one is Vanilla with Gold threads, and the other is White with Silver threads--simply perfect!

I dressed up the envelope by adding embossing (same Festive embossing folder) to the flap--so much fun to get a little preview of what is to come as you open your birthday card!

Sale-a-Bration is coming to an end!  If you want to create this card (or one of your own), you'll need Tasty Trucks and the 3/8" Metallic Ribbon Combo.  Don't delay; place your $50 order now and choose your FREE Sale-a-Bration item!
